Micro Flower Farm

At Yellow House Flower Farm, every floral design begins long before a wedding day.

Nestled within a working sheep property in Hexham, our quarter-acre micro flower farm is home to twenty carefully tended flower beds, where fragrant, seasonal blooms are grown with patience, intention, and respect for the natural rhythm of the seasons.

Founded in 2016 from a shared love of daffodils, the farm has grown into the heart of our floral design studio. Today, Yellow House Flower Farm combines bespoke wedding floristry with small-scale flower farming, allowing us to bring truly seasonal flowers from field to celebration.

We grow flowers chosen not only for their beauty, but for their character. Delicate sweet peas scented by spring mornings, romantic garden roses, ruffled ranunculus, heirloom chrysanthemums, tulips, dahlias, hydrangeas, zinnias and daffodils all find their place among the seasons. Alongside these blooms, we cultivate fragrant foliage including honeysuckle and scented geraniums that add movement, texture, and perfume to our designs.

Many of our favourite flowers are varieties rarely found at commercial flower markets. We are drawn to blooms with natural curves, unique forms, and intoxicating fragrance — flowers that feel as though they have been gathered from an abundant garden rather than manufactured for uniformity.

Our growing season extends from August through until May, with perennial crops such as bulbs and chrysanthemums sharing space with seasonal annuals including sweet peas, cosmos and zinnias. Each bed is planted, harvested and replenished throughout the year, ensuring a continual connection between the garden and our floral designs.

Ash nurtures every stage of the growing process, from sowing seed and tending seedlings through to harvesting flowers at their peak. Lachie oversees the ongoing care and maintenance of the farm, helping ensure each season's crop thrives.

While our own flowers inspire and shape much of our work, we also collaborate with like-minded local flower growers to source additional blooms for weddings and events. Together, we celebrate the beauty of seasonal flowers and support Australia's growing slow flowers movement.

Operating within a closed-loop farming system and enriched by compost generated on the property, our farm reflects our commitment to environmentally conscious growing practices and thoughtful floral design.

The farm remains a private working property and is open by appointment only.
