Frequently Asked Wedding Questions

We've compiled some of the most common questions we receive to help you organise your wedding flowers.

Why are wedding flowers more expensive than supermarket flowers?

Wedding flowers require alot of attention to detail for them to look their best on your wedding day. Often for weddings, we need to organise and purchase flowers up to 8 weeks prior to your wedding date to ensure we have the best, seasonal blooms available to use. We then coordinate pick up of stems often from multiple farms, ensure that the stems are open and fluffy and then create the designs.

Floral items such as bouquets and buttonholes are often made the day prior to the event, but then triple checked the morning of to ensure each stem is sitting in the correct position. Essentially, for your wedding florals to look their best on your day, it requires a lot of babysitting of the flowers in the week leading up to your special day which is why they are charged differently.

Can you guarantee a flower variety on our wedding day?

As we design with Australian grown product only, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature. We will always try our hardest to include a flower variety special to you, but sometimes Mother Nature doesn’t allow us.

How do we know what floral items to include our wedding day?

Our best advice is to invest in the floral items that you can enjoy throughout your day. For example, toilet flowers are not a necessity whereas, investing in a beautiful bridal bouquet that you hold throughout your entire day is more worthwhile. Flowers create ambience in an event and are best when they can be enjoyed so consider placing them where they can be seen and valued.

How do we choose a colour palette for our wedding day?

We recommend sticking to one or two colour palettes. This allows the whole spectrum of that colour to be enjoyed and celebrated. For example a white and green colour palette, permits all shades of green to be celebrated from moss to emerald, together with various shades of ivory to white. A favourite of ours currently is to design with all shades of pink and red together.

We don’t know what flowers we want. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Often couples come to us and request we make a seasonal bouquet that celebrates the time of year they are being married within with not necessarily a colour palette.

Can we repurpose our ceremony flowers to the reception?

We can repurpose ceremony flowers pending the type of statement design piece they are held within, together with weather and time requirements that a venue may request from us. We are big advocates of utilising as many stems repeatedly but are also aware that if your ceremony and reception are not at the same venue, often there is limitations in place that prevent us from transporting florals between venues.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

As we are a bespoke event based florist, we require a minimum of 6 weeks for cancelations.

Do you offer wedding packages?

No. Each wedding that we design for is individual and no two floral design pieces are the same. We do use a online questionnaire when you enquire so that we can provide the most accurate budget recommendation possible to help guide you.
